Choosing the correct cap size is one of the most important steps when buying a wig. A properly fitted wig looks more natural, feels more comfortable, and stays secure all day. If the cap is too tight, it may cause headaches or discomfort. If it’s too loose, the wig may slide or look unnatural.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to measure your head correctly and choose the best wig cap size for you.

Step 1: Prepare Before Measuring

Before measuring your head:

· Tie or flatten your natural hair as close to the scalp as possible

· Use a soft measuring tape

· Measure in centimeters (CM) for higher accuracy

· Stand in front of a mirror if possible

Tip: Measure 2–3 times to ensure accuracy.

Step 2: Key Measurements You Need

1. Circumference

Measure around your entire hairline:

· Start at the forehead

· Go behind the ears

· Around the nape

· Back to the front

This is the MOST important measurement.

2. Front to Nape

Measure from:

· The center of your front hairline

· Across the top of the head

· Down to the nape of your neck

3. Ear to Ear Across Forehead

Measure from one ear:

· Across the forehead

· To the other ear

4. Ear to Ear Over Top

Measure from ear to ear:

· Over the top center of the head

5. Temple to Temple Around Back

Measure from one temple:

· Around the back of the head

· To the opposite temple

6. Nape of Neck

Measure the width of your neck at the hairline.

Step 3: Compare Your Measurements With the Cap Size Chart

After measuring, compare your numbers with the cap size chart.

Most customers wear Medium (M) size wigs.
